IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to changes to Facebook's security protocol, Garmin is no longer able to post to user's walls.  inReach device users will still be able to post to fan pages.  Garmin is working with Facebook for a resolution.


This article explains how to post to social media sites and MapShare.

IMPORTANT: To post to Facebook, and Twitter using your inReach device you must first associate your Facebook and Twitter profile with your inReach account. To post to MapShare, you must have MapShare enabled on your inReach account. A sync is required once any of these items have been configured for the first time.

1. Select Messages and press 

2. Select New Message and press 

3. Select an option:

To post to your Facebook™ account, select .

To post to your Twitter™ account, select .

To post to your MapShare™ web page, select .

4. Select an option:

Select Message: to compose a new message.

Select  to select a quick text message.

When finished, select Send Message.
